TYPES OF ANALYSIS

Pipe Stress

  • We offer our engineering services to:

    • Verify piping stresses are below code allowables (ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, etc.)

    • Verify piping loads on rotating equipment are below industry standards (API-610, NEMA SM 23, etc.)

    • Verify piping loads on vessels, tanks, heaters, etc., are below code allowables (ASME Section II Part D, API 620, etc.)

    • Design spring supports

    • Design rigid pipe supports and restraints

    • Calculate forces and moments for failure analysis

    • Calculate thermal movements

Fluid Flow

  • We offer our engineering services to:

    • Size piping and select piping components

    • Size relief valves and vents

    • Identify and prevent pump cavitation

    • Predict and eliminate water hammer or other undesirable fluid transients

Pipe Vibration

  • We offer our engineering services to:

    • Design and recommend support & restraint modifications to reduce piping vibrations

    • Review pipe routing and spans between supports to avoid resonance with compressor or pump frequencies

    • Verify acoustic frequencies generated by compressors or pumps do not resonate with piping natural frequencies

    • Calculate shaking forces on piping systems

    • Calculate pressure spikes caused by compressors, pumps, dynamic events, etc.

    • Verify the piping system meets API 618 criteria

  • We offer our engineering services to analyze:

    • Leaking flanges

    • Burst/cracked piping

    • Broken/damaged supports and restraints

    • Damaged expansion joints

    • Corroded piping and components
