We provide onsite engineering services during construction to aid plants and contractors in making field engineering decisions. Quite often during construction discrepancies arise and field judgments are made without consulting the design engineer of record. Some of these field judgments can cause significant problems. We also aid in directing the contractor how to properly connect piping to rotating equipment and delicate nozzles. The interface between piping tolerances (1/8”) and machine tolerances (0.005”) can cause significant field fit-up problems when it comes to pump, turbine, or compressor connections. We are experienced in proper field fit-up sequences and techniques to properly align flanges between piping and equipment.
